Summary:

How can love mend a heart full of hate?

Small town girl, Molly Bennett, moves to Los Angeles where she becomes an outsider while attending Beverly Hills High School. It seems life cannot be any more dreadful. Then one day after school, something magical happens. On a secluded hike in the Hollywood Hills, Molly chases her disobedient mutt and only friend into a hidden cavern. She stumbles upon a strange glimmering gateway that transports her to Arkana, a planet that is the cradle of an advanced human race. There, teenagers navigate amazing flying vehicles, compete in perilous games for glory, and possess supernatural powers. While Molly tries to wrap her mind around this unbelievable discovery, she meets the alluring and mysterious Victor Sorren. He is a Sentinel Apprentice, whose hatred toward people from Earth is beyond understanding. Yet every time Victor unpredictably saves Molly's life, his heart draws closer to hers, no matter how much he tries to fight against it. It further complicates things that their growing friendship is strictly forbidden. Earth people are prohibited in Arkana, yet Molly continues to cross through the portal to Arkana to see Victor. Torn between their double lives, they go down a dangerous path, from where there is no return and multiple endings.
Fields of Elysium is a suspenseful romantic tale full of forbidden secrets, danger, deception, and the never-ending fight for true love.

After months of amazing adventures and secrecy, Molly and Victor find peace in each other’s arms. Adam’s memory has been erased. The secret of the Arkanians is safe. Life couldn’t be more perfect.

But Molly is robbed of her short-lived happiness when a devastating tragedy strikes her family, shattering her entire existence. Faced with a terrifying future, she feels that there is nothing left for her on Earth but an insensitive aunt and her little brother, while Arkana promises a place where she might find happiness and purpose again.

Victor tries to convince Molly to move to his village in Arkana, where they can live together in secret. But Molly refuses to live in the shadows. She wants to be a Sentinel and join the fight against the Terrakas. But getting into the Academy requires more than a pretty face.

About the author:

I'm a Hungarian born American writer, who was lucky enough to travel Europe, Africa, and The Middle East and live in Ecuador, Crete and Italy. I graduated as a computer engineer, thus if anybody tells you math and literature can't walk hand in hand, don't believe them. *smile
I'm the author of the Fields of Elysium saga, which I like to call a young adult romantic fantasy. The first book of the series was inspired by amazing movies like Dirty Dancing, Avatar, and Twilight and earned praise from prestigious review companies and readers. I'm currently working on book three and four, and planning to write two more novellas  to finish the series, dedicated to two very interesting characters in my story, Victor Sorren, the byronic hero, and The Prophet, the mysterious leader of the Arkanians.

World War Z - My Movie Review

World War Z

2013PG-13
A U.N. employee races against time and fate as he travels the world trying to stop the spread of a deadly zombie pandemic. As the undead hordes gain strength across the globe, governments topple and Earth stands on the brink of total social collapse.

My Review:

If you haven’t gone to see the movie World War Z yet, hesitate no longer. This summer blockbuster has everything a good movie needs: plenty of action that keeps your eyes glued to the screen; emotional scenes that make you root for the characters; believable acting along with a plot that actually makes sense.
The movie is rated PG-13, but in my opinion, too much suspense and too many scary parts make it unsuitable for younger kids. As a fiction writer and avid movie fan, I saw most of the scary scenes coming and warned my kids to cover their eyes, but two teen boys next to me jumped from fright quite a few times.
Some claim that Brad Pitt has lost his charm, but I don’t feel that way. I loved him in this role, playing a caring father and experienced UN field scientist. Actually, I can’t remember any other disaster movie where the leading scientist cared more about his/her family than the survival of mankind itself. When an epidemic breaks out, infecting everybody who gets bitten by zombies with a fast spreading virus, the Brad Pitt character’s number-one priority is getting his family to safety instead of satisfying his own curiosity by finding the cure. Yet when government officials corner him and force him to face the facts that only those people are going to be saved who serve a purpose, he steps up to lead the investigation into the origin of the breakout and, with that, ensure his own family’s survival.

The investigation takes the audience from the USA to North Korea to Israel. We meet interesting characters, and learn bits and pieces about the virus, all parts of a puzzle that won’t be solved by the end of the movie, leaving open the opportunity for a sequel or sequels. This story has the potential to grow and branch out.  If the studio comes out with the next installment, I’ll definitely go to see what happens next.
